Auburn has secured its 10th commitment of the 2020 recruiting class.
Four-star linebacker Trenton Simpson from Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, N.C., announced his decision to join the Tigers on Friday.
Simpson is ranked as the No. 4 outside linebacker in the country and No. 52 overall recruit, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Simpson is only the second commit for the defensive side so far for the 2020 class, along with three-star defensive end Daniel Foster-Allen. The Tigers lost the commitment of four-star linebacker Demouy Kennedy in March. Kennedy has since committed to Alabama.
Simpson held 24 offers from Division I schools and named a Top 5 on May 3 of Auburn, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina and Tennessee.
