Overlooked no longer, Deshaun Davis is going to Cincinnati.
Auburn’s star middle linebacker was picked by the Bengals in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon, with the 210th pick in the draft.
Davis was an All-SEC player and a team captain for the Tigers last season, and a stalwart starter in the middle of the Tigers’ defense.
His selection caps a draft process that saw him doubted for his size. He was listed at 5-foot-11 and 233 pounds on Auburn’s roster last year.
Davis was Auburn’s tackles leader, pulling down 116 during his senior season in 2018. He finished the year with 15 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He earned first-team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press at season’s end.
